I am a husband, father, and grandfather.  I have had the privilege to be close to my family, watch them grow, and have a job that I love.  In my many years,  I have learned and grown from life lessons.  I have overcome adversity with the loss of my daughter, and I have gained a new sight on life from just watching my grandchildren. I thank God everyday for my beautiful wife. I have learned to take nothing for granted, and realize that faith and family is everything. I still enjoy going to work everyday and love being able to help people and impact their life, even if its only saving them $500.  I am proud of what we have accomplished. You can say Insurance is in our family. 

I have been in the insurance business for 45 years.  As a founding member of Insurance Concepts of St. Louis, I have learned and grown from working in all different aspects of insurance.  I started my insurance career as a direct writing agent with AAA Auto club in 1974.  A year later I moved to Liberty Mutual.  I really enjoyed selling insurance and helping people find the best policy for them. After being with Liberty Mutual for 5 years I saw the need for a greater diversity in the markets and changed to be an Independent Agent.  I went on my own and started Been and Associates.  As an Independent agent I was able to offer my clients a wider range of companies and products at more competitive rates. In 1985 I saw a value to merge with two fellow independent agents and that is when Insurance Concepts of St. Louis was established.  Over the coarse of the years other agents have joined our group.  The agency has grown in employees, producers and we were able to greatly increase the size of Insurance Concepts.

As I said earlier family is important to me. I needed to expand my services again to meet the demand, so I brought on my daughter Lissa, as a customer service representative to help handle my clients needs. She was very knowledgeable and our clients loved her, sadly she past away in 2012.  My son Louie came on in 2009 after working for Liberty Mutual.  He is very knowledgable about all aspects of the property-casualty business as well as being an outstanding insurance producer.  He has grown his book of business to over $1,000, 000+ as well as helping service our agency book of business. Looking into the future, I saw the need to have a plan in place to better service the future of our customers. So recently, my grandson Keve (Lissa’s son) joined our team.  He is a licensed agent as well as finishing up his college degree in the next year.  He will be part of the service team as a customer service representative. 

So here we are today, a family-oriented insurance agency striving to maintain our customer’s loyalty through service, competitive rates, and outstanding coverages through our many Insurance Company partners.  We have a vision of future growth, by working hard and using the modern technology available to us.
