Using a broker/independent insurance agent you will have more options.  When you go direct through a company you do not get a direct contact person and your rates are what they are because they do not have any other companies to shop with.  When you go though a direct local agent like a State Farm or Farmers you will have a direct contact but they do not of any options of shopping your insurance if your rate goes up.  A direct agent is handcuffed to the parameters of the company they work for.  As an independent agent we have the ability to shop many companies to find you the best rate and coverage without you being bombarded with calls and emails from a bunch of insurance companies.  We will give you apples to apples quotes and help you find the best policy for your situation.  We work for you not the insurance company, so as your agent we are on your side and will work hard for you if there is a claim or any other issue you may have.  Also, you will always know who your contact is and will always be able to get ahold of us. If you have a claim we will even help you call it in.
